1. Who we are

2. What Sidequick is

Sidequick is a desktop application that helps you break personal projects into manageable quests and maintain momentum through streaks and progress tracking. It uses AI via your own third party API key to generate quest suggestions.

3. Using Sidequick

You may:

• Download and use Sidequick on your personal devices
• Use it for personal or commercial projects
• Share it with others by directing them to the official download page

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
• Redistribute, resell, or repackage Sidequick
• Use Sidequick for any unlawful purpose

4. Your API key and AI providers

Sidequick requires you to provide your own API key from a third party AI provider such as Anthropic or OpenAI. You are solely responsible for:

• Obtaining and maintaining your API key
• Any costs incurred through your use of the AI provider
• Complying with the terms of service of your chosen AI provider

We have no access to your API key and no visibility into requests made to AI providers on your behalf.

5. Your data

All project data, quests, notes, and progress are stored locally on your device. We have no access to this data. You are solely responsible for backing up your data. We accept no liability for data loss resulting from uninstallation, device failure, or any other cause.

6. Pricing and future paid features

Sidequick is currently free to download and use. We reserve the right to introduce paid features, subscriptions, or a paid tier in the future.

If paid features are introduced:

• Existing free features will not be retroactively paywalled without reasonable notice
• Any pricing changes will be communicated clearly in advance
• You will never be charged without your explicit consent

7. Disclaimer of warranties

Sidequick is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The app will be uninterrupted or error free
• AI generated quests will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs
• The app will meet your specific requirements

You use Sidequick at your own risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Sidequick, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data
• Loss of productivity
• Any costs incurred through your use of third party AI providers

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Sidequick shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim. As Sidequick is currently free, this amount is zero.

9. Third party services

Sidequick integrates with the following third party services:

• Anthropic / OpenAI — AI quest generation via your own API key
• PostHog — anonymous usage analytics (can be disabled in Settings)

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third party services. Their respective terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services.

10. Intellectual property

Sidequick and all associated branding, design, and code are the intellectual property of the developer. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the app as described in section 3.

11. Updates and changes

We may update Sidequick at any time. Updates may change or remove features. We will communicate significant changes through release notes.

We may also update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Continued use of Sidequick after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using Sidequick at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to discontinue Sidequick at any time with reasonable notice where possible.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
